For instance, I love the Sim Set's Water facilties and now I can craft areas around it to appear that is the hub for my clean water needs for an area. I half use Sim Settlements simply because certain Industrial buildings are far more immersive that I might have been able to construct with Vanilla's building objects. Plus, the creators are geniuses in building and decor design. It's cool to comeback to a sim settlement after being gone for weeks on end to see the changes happening while you were away. The great part is when a settler spawns in your town and you are off doing other stuff, that settler ain't gonna stand around waiting for orders til you come back, Sim Settlement will auto trigger and put them to work so lot less micromanaging.
If I don't want to use it (by putting plots down) it's like not having it on and you can do your own thing. The modder is very active as well and has put out countless updates for additions/bug fixes. Probably one of the best mods for Fallout 4.
